Real Wedding: Catherine + Justin

Hello all! I wanted to share with you some sweet images from one of my weddings this past Spring - Catherine and Justin were married at the Historic Baptist church in down town Raleigh and had their reception at Cafe Luna. The day was just beautiful and it was so evident how much love and support these two had from their families. They were both super laid back and go-with-the flow type of people which made the planning process fun and feel more like friends meeting up and chatting then a client/planner relationship. We also had the privilege of designing their invitations and their event through our sister company Bushel and Peck.  Hope you enjoy the pictures and maybe get a little inspiration!

Elizabeth and Nick: St. Michael's Ceremony and Stockroom Reception

In honor of their 1st year anniversary - we are finally blogging about this seriously sweet couple! I met Elizabeth and Nick at Panera over coffee. We instantly clicked. Elizabeth is that person that you see and wonder how they became so genuine and kind. She is one of the warmest and sweetest person we have ever had the pleasure to work with. Nick is just as wonderful and one of those grooms that you hope your daughter will end up with one day. I mean they are both teachers and met teaching at St. Michaels. How cute is that!?!  I loved meetings with these two! It was never a chore, nor was it ever dull! We laughed, chatted, and at times got a little real about life.

She sent us a random e-mail that she was looking for a house to rent for her family to stay in from Wednesday - Sunday. I replied back with - "well, I have this house -well venue actually - and it is free that weekend." This was the first time we had a group of people stay for an extended time. It was wonderful! We loved making the beds, washing the towels, making breakfast, and tending to their needs. They were the kindest people. I just loved that family! They held the rehearsal dinner there, and they invited everyone over for Sunday brunch the day after the wedding. It was one of those moments when you just got teary-eyed. THIS was what our vision was. Family and love. We were so grateful they chose us to host them for the weekend.

She had a beautiful vision for The Stockroom and we were so thrilled that she also chose to use Bushel and Peck for her flowers. Becca was the designer and she did a great job! She wanted simple, lots of greenery, and very natural.

Now this girl is gorgeous normally, but let me tell you- she was stunning in her dress. That dress! It was ah-mazing and fit her so perfectly- it looked like it was designed with her in mind.

We loved every aspect of this night. Brett with Blest Studios was a dream to work with. Ryan with SPIN kept us laughing and entertained with their seriously awesome taste in music. Beau Catering gave us a delicious meal that was the talk of the night. We ended in an epic confetti blast that was released at "the note" from Whitney Houston's I will always love you. Total disclaimer here- Confetti is NOT allowed at The Stockroom. We didn't know- we do now and we know why. I am still finding gold confetti around The Bradford and in my bridal kit.

Enjoy these photos from one of my absolute favorites from last year! It was one of those events that makes you love your job so much.

Ruth and Matt

Hello again! Hope everyone is enjoying this Tuesday - today I want to share with you one of my favorite weddings from 2015! First of all Ruth was GREAT to work with - she is funny, smart, and has realistic expectations! A planner could not ask for more - Secondly she made the sound decisions of booking the Bradford, Hiring C and D to coordinate, and Bushel and Peck to design - I mean clearly the girl has taste:) All that aside - the day was dreamy - one of those days where you love what you do and everything goes perfectly! She was so happy all day (As you can see in the pictures) and her family and friends were the sweetest people! I loved her romantic blush and grey color scheme with vintage overtones - it complimented the venue perfectly! My favorite part of the day was the ceremony! Ruth's Dad, who is a local pastor, officiated and it was the sweetest ceremony I have ever witnessed (and I have seen a lot!) You could tell how much he loved her and how much prayer and nurturing went into making Ruth the gorgeous woman that she is today! Enjoy the pics to follow - they were captured by Cole with Blest studios and he was the icing on a beautiful cake of a day!

Do they make happier brides??

Handsome groom!

Seriously my favorite picture taken at a wedding EVER!

The day was filled with prayer and celebration - you left there feeling blessed to be a part of it!

Kelsey and Stephen - Bradford Christmas Wedding

I am actually about a year late blogging about this wedding - but it seems appropriate this week with the 20 degree weather and ominous winter clouds outside! Kelsey and her family came to us about 2 months before the wedding and asked if we could plan, design, and coordinate her wedding of 30 people in just two months - we loved the challenge and the creative freedom! I loved planning with Kelsey because she really trusted our vision - gave us colors, guest count, and a little food direction and left the rest to us.

She wanted a brunch wedding with navy and silver as the prevailing colors. It was held 3 days before Christmas so she was fine incorporating Christmas elements in the design - we had a fun black Friday at Michaels that year....We decided to do 1 big family table with an elaborate centerpiece for the reception portion. We held the wedding in the dining room of the Bradford and Kelsey made her grand entrance down our stairs!

I LOVED the event - I loved how cozy and intimate it was. I felt like it was a wedding from the past (Like maybe Dickens or Bronte would make an appearance)- a celebration but not TOO crazy, surrounded by just the people who are most important to you! Kelsey and Stephen were so happy and you could tell that it was more about their marriage than the wedding that day.

She looked so beautiful in this dress! Perfect for the day - not too much and not too little.

Navy Velvet shoes!

A gorgeous white, green, grey bouquet! Loved the gathered look!
