May NACE Meeting: A Pop Up Styled Shoot

NACE is an organization for event industry professionals and we are fortunate enough to belong to such an amazing group of talented people. In May, Dana had the honor of planning the NACE meeting along side Jennifer Buenviaje of Makeup for Your Day. The event was held at The Stockroom in Downtown Raleigh.

During the meeting, our friends at Southern Bride and Groom and Weddings Magazine participated in a panel. They gave their insight on PR Strategies and spoke about the importance of styled shoots in the industry. A styled shoot brings vendors of all types together to display exactly what they can offer clients. Styled shoots can be published in magazines, blogs and even on social media. This is a great way for vendors to connect with one another and network their businesses.

After the panel, the attendees were split up into six teams and participated in a pop up styled shoot. Each team had a box which they could fill with props to use during the shoot and was given a theme of either Bohemian, Romantic or High Drama. When teams arrived at The Glassbox they found models to choose from and a blank table. The teams had everything they could want to use including linens, flower arrangements, vases and much more. The teams had 10 minutes from the time that their team number was called to style the table and then they had 10 minutes to shoot it. We were so impressed with all of the teams. It tools pure talent and team work to create these beautiful designs in 10 minutes.  Thank you to everyone who participated in the NACE meeting and thank you to our vendors who donated to our meeting!

Ruth and Matt

Hello again! Hope everyone is enjoying this Tuesday - today I want to share with you one of my favorite weddings from 2015! First of all Ruth was GREAT to work with - she is funny, smart, and has realistic expectations! A planner could not ask for more - Secondly she made the sound decisions of booking the Bradford, Hiring C and D to coordinate, and Bushel and Peck to design - I mean clearly the girl has taste:) All that aside - the day was dreamy - one of those days where you love what you do and everything goes perfectly! She was so happy all day (As you can see in the pictures) and her family and friends were the sweetest people! I loved her romantic blush and grey color scheme with vintage overtones - it complimented the venue perfectly! My favorite part of the day was the ceremony! Ruth's Dad, who is a local pastor, officiated and it was the sweetest ceremony I have ever witnessed (and I have seen a lot!) You could tell how much he loved her and how much prayer and nurturing went into making Ruth the gorgeous woman that she is today! Enjoy the pics to follow - they were captured by Cole with Blest studios and he was the icing on a beautiful cake of a day!

Do they make happier brides??

Handsome groom!

Seriously my favorite picture taken at a wedding EVER!

The day was filled with prayer and celebration - you left there feeling blessed to be a part of it!

Sweetest ceremony in our back garden area!

Kelsey and Stephen - Bradford Christmas Wedding

I am actually about a year late blogging about this wedding - but it seems appropriate this week with the 20 degree weather and ominous winter clouds outside! Kelsey and her family came to us about 2 months before the wedding and asked if we could plan, design, and coordinate her wedding of 30 people in just two months - we loved the challenge and the creative freedom! I loved planning with Kelsey because she really trusted our vision - gave us colors, guest count, and a little food direction and left the rest to us.

She wanted a brunch wedding with navy and silver as the prevailing colors. It was held 3 days before Christmas so she was fine incorporating Christmas elements in the design - we had a fun black Friday at Michaels that year....We decided to do 1 big family table with an elaborate centerpiece for the reception portion. We held the wedding in the dining room of the Bradford and Kelsey made her grand entrance down our stairs!

I LOVED the event - I loved how cozy and intimate it was. I felt like it was a wedding from the past (Like maybe Dickens or Bronte would make an appearance)- a celebration but not TOO crazy, surrounded by just the people who are most important to you! Kelsey and Stephen were so happy and you could tell that it was more about their marriage than the wedding that day.

She looked so beautiful in this dress! Perfect for the day - not too much and not too little.

Navy Velvet shoes!

A gorgeous white, green, grey bouquet! Loved the gathered look!

The light!

Hello All!

We are seeing the light over here at the end of the proverbial tunnel - we have executed 18 weddings in the past 7 weeks and are on our last weekend before a 4 week hiatus! I can't even tell you how excited I am to work on some planning, maybe clear my desk, spend a Saturday with the kiddos, and even attend church! I have such high hopes for the next few weeks.....

That is not discounting how AWESOME C and D and the Bradford did these past couple of months - seriously we had a team that made all of this possible and they all ROCKED it! Could not be more proud and thankful for everyone involved and all they did to make each event a success.

Here are some pictures of a few of our fave moments!

So loved being a part of this girls day!

My FAVORITE ceremony ever - officiated by the Bride's Dad!

Some pretties at the Bradford for a gorgeous Sunday event!

We got to witness an EPIC lip Singing contest between the Bride and Groom!
