Audrey & Brooks' wedding was one out of a dream book. Although planning in 2020 was anything but a dream come true, the were the kindness and most compassionate couple when it came to taking the necessary health precautions. They always said that what was most important to them was getting married on their wedding date while they could because none of us are promised tomorrow and they wanted to celebrate with as many of their close family members as they could.

The original plan for their wedding was to have the ceremony in Anne Hill Courtyard at the Carolina Inn and a reception in Hill Ballroom. After TWENTY-ONE layout changes, they ended up starting their marriage in the Old Well Ballroom and celebrating under a clear top tent on the Front Porch. Not only were their pandemic precautions and changes that we needed to make to the layout, we also ran into quite a few bumps with how rainy the weather had been leading up to their big day. I'll let you in on a little secret though - it was absolutely perfect and even better than we originally had planned! When a couple and their family can lean into the changes and trust their vendor team, it makes for a true show-stopping event.

When planning, we knew we wanted a few design elements that would be the focus areas. One was the beautiful cake created by Ashley Cakes. We centered this in the middle of the two lounges and added a spotlight so everyone's attention was drawn directly to it when entering the tent. The second were those two lounges. One lounge had a more modern vibe with an emerald green couch and the other a more relaxed feel. Lastly, the tent was everything! Get Lit Special Event Lighting hung thousands of lights under the clear top tent to truly make it sparkle and trust me when I say it was magical. It even looked magically when we were cleaning up after the event and that is truly rare!
