From my first meeting with this couple I knew I had to work with them! Eleanor and Patrick are some of the smartest people I know, as they were working on their doctorate in Biology at Duke when we first met. We met at a coffee shop, and sat and talked for at least 2 hours. I loved hearing about their vision for their wedding and what they studied. They mentioned they had no idea how to make their vision come to life, so we instantly got to work!

There were so many unique and personal touches to their wedding right down to how they chose their wedding colors! Eleanor and Patrick had studied finches and how they picked their mate based on colors of reds, oranges, and yellows. Instantly my brain thought, “YES! Lets use those same colors for their wedding.” Since they work in labs, we also thought using beakers, tubes, and glasses found in the labs would be such a cute touch to incorporate in their design. My most favorite vision for their wedding was the cakes (made by friends and family) they used as their centerpiece. It was absolutely amazing to see 17 homemade cakes that ranged from rich chocolate to vegan made with beats and avocados! I LOVED it! So creative and personal! They had such a sweet ceremony in the woods at The Barn at Valhalla, followed by an incredibly delicious meal by Beau Catering under a stunning clear top tent. This was such a beautiful setting for her friends and family to gather and toast the couple. The night continued with dancing and partying and an afterparty on the deck. This wedding truly was one that was so original and full of love for the couple. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Eleanor and Patrick, and I wish them absolutely nothing but love and great times.
