Where to even begin with this sweet couple!?! I am most excited to finally share this wedding! We had to wait for The Carolinas Magazine to come out and it is finally here so now I get gush all over one of my favorite spring weddings!
I met Stephanie and Kevin about 15 months prior to their wedding. We sat and chatted about vision, design, and med school. They met at Duke and they had the sweetest engagement story involving an improv class. Check out The Carolina's Winter/Spring issue to read all about it!
Back to the planning - when I left that meeting I called Court and said- "I hope she really picks me! I love her style and they are SO nice!" Luckily they did! I said it a lot last Spring, but my Spring/Summer clients were literally the best ever. I loved every single one of them and wanted to never let their weddings go! Stephanie and Kevin were no exception. We would spend way too much time at meetings not talking about weddings, but life in general. Stephanie was there when Ada got diagnosed with HSP and my scared, totally freaked out self felt comfort in talking with someone who knew what it actually was. She was so kind, supportive, and really made me feel like I wasn't crazy at how ridiculous and nervous I felt walking through it. To say she is a gem is a gross understatement of who she actually is. I wanted their day to be perfect. Luckily - thanks to the weather gods- it was!
We worked with Diane at Bower Bird and were blown away by the gorgeous flowers. I loved revealing the reception space to them and seeing how excited and giddy they were to see their vision come to life. The flowers were ah-mazing and Get Lit knocked it out of the park making the inside of the hall feel softer and much more garden-esque than campy/lodgey. The guests enjoyed a gorgeous sun filled ceremony and a leisurely cocktail hour on the lush green lawns. We welcomed everyone inside for a station style dinner with the yummiest of foods! Fish, scallops, gnocchi and fresh salad were a huge hit with everyone. Kaiya with Details Cake Design killed us all with her yummy and gorgeous naked cake and Guglhupf delivered with show stopping macaroons. It was a night to remember!
Stephanie and Kevin- I loved every second of planning this event and I know you all will have an awesome future together! Thank you so much for trusting me to plan this most important day and thank you for being such a good friend in the process. Love to you both!
