Real Wedding: Jenna + AJ at The Merrimon-Wynne House

I had the absolute joy in helping plan Jenna and AJ's wedding. I have known Jenna for a few years, so I was incredibly excited to help make her dream a reality. Jenna had such a fun and laid back personality which made her wonderful to work with. Not to mention her vision for her wedding was so beautiful and elegant. Don't get me wrong, as many ideas as she had, AJ had some of his own. It is always nice to see the groom really getting involved in the wedding planning process, because it was truly the two of them making it their wedding and not just "hers."

She spoke with Bushel and Peck, as well as myself, about her vision and we worked to build exactly the look she had in mind. She wanted lots of greenery and very simple because "the Merrimon-Wynne is so beautiful and it should speak for itself." With that in mind we got to work on putting this vision for her together, with tons of greenery, wonderful blush and white colored flowers, lanterns, as well as some stunning items from Greenhouse Picker Sisters. We created this wonderful, and beautifully simple, elegant wedding design. My most favorite had to the the hanging flower backdrop, with white to pink ombre carnations. It make for a stunning picture for them, and later for the dessert table.

Their wedding day could not have been a better day to get married! The weather the whole week leading up to the big day had been calling for rain, and slightly chilly. We ended up with a beautiful sunny day with the high around the 70s. The fantastic Bronwyn Duffield has the pictures to prove it. They were so much fun to watch on the big day as they were so relaxed and they wanted to make sure that their guest (along with themselves) enjoyed the wedding as much as humanly possible. The cocktail hour inside the house was so picturesque as the light was shinning through the Merrimon-Wynne's huge windows, and the tables were covered in a wonderful soft lace linens.

We had a fantastic meal that was catered by the wonderful Rocky Top Hospitality staff. The dessert table was a classic Pittsburgh traditional cookie table... as the groom was from Pittsburg. All of the homemade cookies were gone before I could eat way more than I wanted to, but the ones I did eat lets just say I will be making a phone call to an Aunt or two. Once the dinner was over we made sure to have the Bride and Grooms custom corn hole boards out (Ohio State for the Bride and Steelers for the Groom) on the lawn as well as the venue's fire pit surrounded by rocking chairs. It was such an enjoyable evening, and once people let their food coma pass the dancing was on! Nina with All Events DJs absolutely destroyed it. The dance floor was jam packed and hearing a whole building sing is always a good sound for a great party! This wedding was absolutely one to remember, and a great start to my 2018 wedding year!

Jenna and AJ, thank you so very much for letting me be apart of your day. You are a fantastic couple through and through. I wish you all of the happiness in the world, and congrats on your journey in life together! You were an absolute pleasure, and with that I send you so much love and best wishes!
