Real Wedding: Abby + Dan at Market Hall

I just have to start this blog with a fair warning... NERD ALERT! To anyone who knows me, you know I may or may not, LOVE Harry Potter! So when I met Abby, and she instantly noticed my Alex and Ani Deathly Hollows Bangle, we both knew we were each other's people. She told me that her planning had been put on the back burner a few times with personal/family health issues. Normally brides tend to be in a rush after having to put plans on hold for a while, but Abby was so kind and patient. That makes sense as she is a nurse and is always so kind in life. She told me her vision for her wedding was a very Harry Potter theme, that she and Dan were both true PotterHeads. To say I "fangirl'ed" every time she talked about her wedding would be the understatement for the year! They had chosen Market Hall to hold their large wedding guest count, and that couldn't have been more perfect. She wanted to mimic the Great Hall for seating, and I knew exactly what she was thinking. She had four incredibly long tables to seat all of her guests. With a "theme" in mind for a wedding, it could go in 1 of 2 ways... A birthday party, or professionally done with subtle touches, and if your guest knows... then they know. We took that mentality to our rental meeting with CE. From there we chose linens that fit but weren't obnoxious to the theme. We chose to go with 2 different table cloth designs, and they were either gold or a silver tone. We did end up having a ton of fun with the napkins though, each set of long tables had a napkin that represented their "house colors." One table had dark red napkins, one black, one navy, and one emerald. The real fun was on the day, Abby didn't have a florist, she had everything she had brought from home! Back to these tables and "houses" each set of long tables that represented a specific Hogwarts house, had centerpieces that matched. Bottles for the potions class at the Slytherin Table. Planted Mandrakes and vines, for the Hufflepuff table... I think you get the gist of it. It made for such a unique touch, but her guest LOVED this! One table had the "dark mark" temporary tattoos and her guest had so much fun with them. To have your guest entertained throughout the whole wedding is such a fun and creative touch. I really could talk about this wedding for days, but I will just have to let you check out the pictures and let them speak for themselves. To all of you creative and nerdy souls, we know your wedding vision isn't for everyone, but we sure do have fun helping you plan them! As for Abby and Dan, I miss you both terribly and thank you for letting me be a part of your magical day. Don't worry my Mandrake is doing just fine.
