Real Wedding: Bailey + Stephen at The Barn at Valhalla

I remember meeting Stephen and Bailey for the first time over lunch and thinking "wow.. they are so laid back!". It was obvious right off the bat that they were going to have one of those effortlessly cool, fun and beautiful weddings. One of the things that I loved was that they wanted to use so many different parts of the Barn, and thankfully the weather was gorgeous enough for us to do so!

Their ceremony took place in front of the fireplace outside the lodge and I think it was one of the most beautiful uses of that space that I've ever seen! The grooms talented mom put up a gorgeous floral installation on the mantle and the base was lined with floating candles. But the coolest part was that they had the idea to put a mirror in the back of the fireplace so that it looked like you were looking THROUGH to the woods behind - so creative!

One of the most important things to Stephen and Bailey was having great music for guests to enjoy, and we ended up deciding on three different types of music for the day. The ceremony was very romantic thanks to the always amazing Ben and Amaree playing the violin and guitar. The reception was lively and fun thanks to the guys at Anything Music DJ's. But I think my favorite was the trio of jazz musicians that played during the cocktail hour. Stephen and Bailey came to me one day during planning and mentioned that they'd seen this group play the weekend before at a bar and they just had to have them play at their wedding! It really was a cool and personal touch to the day.

My other favorite part of the day was the cookie table! A cookie table is a Pittsburgh tradition and is exactly what it sounds like: tons (and tons) of amazing homemade cookies that are usually baked by the family of the couple getting married (in this case it was Stephen's family who made the cookies). Guests went nuts for the homemade treats and it was another amazing personal touch that made the day so special.

Stephen and Bailey were so great to work with and I truly enjoyed being able to plan and be a part of their big day!

XOXO, Leah
